Our Story
SSH Architecture was founded in 1987 in Lincoln, Nebraska and is led by Principal Kevin Hittle. Established with a vision to provide exceptional architecture and construction services, SSH has grown from serving the Lincoln community into a respected architecture and construction management firm throughout the region.
SSH is a regional design firm founded on collaboration, integrity, and strong partnerships with clients and team members alike. For nearly four decades our team has been dedicated to the highest standards of professional practice and delivering quality designs to our clients.

Scott Smith
Principal Architect
Scott joined the SSH team in 2014. Through the hands-on approach at SSH he's gained a multitude of experience in various project types and scale both in the public and private sectors. His architectural interests include rehabilitating old structures through adaptive reuse and design build, although he is willing to tackle any variety of project.
Scott grew up in a rural farm community in southern California where he attended community college while working as a farmhand. He transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, for the academics and football tradition, where he received his bachelor's and Master of Architecture degree.
Kevin Hittle
Architect
Kevin Hittle is a registered architect with more than 30 years of professional experience in architecture. His work spans planning, design coordination, technical documentation, and construction-phase support.
As a member of the American Institute of Architects, Kevin brings a disciplined and collaborative approach to each project. He is also a disabled American Veteran and a retired Colonel of the Army National Guard, bringing decades of leadership, organization, and public-service experience to his architectural practice.

Emalea Dean
Principal Administrator
Emalea has worked with the SSH team since 2015. Her experience in management and tenacious organizational skills keep the office moving forward.
As a Nebraska native Emalea has a deep passion for experiencing new things and meeting new people in the community. She brings a positive attitude to every situation and leaves a bright and joyful impact on every interation.

Evan Robinson
Intern Architect
Evan is the newest addition to SSH and joined in 2024 as an architectural intern while in school. He possesses a creative drive and works diligently to provide positive solutions to every challenge. His willingness to learn, and exploration of the architectural world brings great insight to the projects he collaborates on.
Originally from New York, Evan decided to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a retreat from the big city lifestyle, where he received his bachelor's and Master of Architecture degree. He is currently working towards professional licensure in Nebraska.
